These Books NEVER Get Old!

Honestly... We could make these folio books over and over again! Just yesterday a lady at a crop told us that she made two and it got "old." We looked at her like she had grown two heads right before our eyes! Here are some pictures that I took of one that I just did for a friend for her to give as a gift for a baby shower.

This is the front cover. It has that vintage baby feel to it, so I wanted to make sure that I kept that throughout the book. I used a Swivel Clasp by Tim Holtz as the closure mechanism.

This is another collection from Fancy Pants called Baby Mine.

I decorated the pull out tags very minimally because I wanted to leave the mother to be plenty of room for journaling and for mounting pictures when the time comes.

The chipboard stickers and embellishments that are included in this collection came in handy for adding a splash of extra character in corners!

Books... Books ... & More Books!

Books have been the theme around the crafting room since before Christmas! It feels like we have made a million and one of them... and loved each and every minute of it! Hopefully there will be some Copics and some card making in the near future, but for now ... it's all about making albums for friends and family and looking forward to hearing about how they are filled up!

It all started with a folio class that we took at the local craft store, The Paper Trail, with instructor Kim Baker. We fell in love with the book and have made about a dozen or so of them since. I snapped some pictures of the most recent ones we put together.

This is the front of a summer album that Michele recently finished. She is hoping to fill it up with pictures this summer when her nieces and nephews come to visit! :)

The paper is from Fancy Pants, the Beach Bum collection.

The colors are nothing less than awesome! She hasn't decorated the tags that are tucked in pockets here there and every where. She is going to wait until she has the pictures of her babies to work with.
Hurry Up SUMMER!

The craft paper can be used for photo mounting or for journaling.
We love the layout of this book and it is super functional and fun to make!

And I still Missed the Birthday!

I was so far ahead of the game... and I was proud! I made this card about 2 weeks ahead of time for my friend's birthday! WOOO HOOO! I put it in my file with the other cards that are finished and just waiting to be sent and then..... nothing! Work and life happened and her birthday came and went! I am going to send it out anyway with a very sincere apology and hope that it will still put a smile on her face!

I used a La La Land stamp called, "Dress Up Marci" and Papertrey Ink paper along with some adorable embellishments that I picked up along the way.

With Love

This past Friday while everyone else at the crop worked on wonderful scrapbook pages, Michele and I made a few cards for Valentine's Day. We had such an incredible time! Watching all the ladies trying to figure out where to put the pictures of their new born grandchildren and watching the busy moms that are finally getting a minute away from their children ... only to be pouring over pictures of them! :)

So we sat down at the table at the end of The Paper Trail and put together cards for our friends. The room was filled with love and laughter... so how could the cards not be? :)

Enjoy the Journey

Life gets so busy with the everyday things that I often find myself forgetting to be thankful for, mindful of, and enjoying the everyday things! It's the everyday things that make life worth living and make the journey worth remembering! I made this little mini album and am going to fill it with all the everyday things that make my journey such an amazing joy!

Lucky Love

If you have been lucky enough or blessed enough to find love in this world, embrace it! In a world where hate and cruelty sometimes seem more common than kindness and humanity, IF you have a chance to love someone take it!

"My Friend"

Rae moved to Georgia several years ago and I miss her smile immensely! Just thinking about the words, "my friend," makes me think of her and her beautiful, easy smile! She is one of those people that uses "my friend" in place of your name.... The conversation wouldn't begin with "Hey Michele!" It always .... and I mean always .... begins with "Hello my friend!" And when she says it.... You know you have a friend... not a passing through friend... but a life time one!

Rae... I love you my friend!

I made this card at the Paper Trail Store crop this weekend. If you have a chance to stop by and browse around her online store, I am sure that Karen would be very appreciative!

Love Grows On Trees!

We may not have had a lot of "things" when I was growing up but there was no shortage of love! Looking back it seems like "money doesn't grow on trees," was my parents mantra. :) Obviously love did grow on trees.... because we sure had plenty of that!

This is a simple card that I put together during a crop this weekend at The Paper Trail Store this past Friday. If you live in the Fayetteville, North Carolina area or plan to visit stop by and see Karen I am sure she will have just what you are looking for! If you are too far away for a trip to the store .... no worries! You can shop online here!

I used the Stampabilities "Heart Tree" stamp, Papertrey Ink paper, and some bakers twine. WAY easy card but I think it turned out beautiful!

Merry Christmas

I am super proud to say that almost ALL of my Christmas shopping is done for this season! Woo Hoo! No Black Friday madness for me! This cute little Magnolia stamp, called "Tilda Hiding Gift." I thought she was too cute! :) I enjoyed coloring her with my Copic markers and using my Spellbinder Nestablities to help add some life to the cards.

O Holy Night

Some images are just so powerful that it seems best to just let them speak for themselves. That was definitely the feel that I got from this one. I thought it would be best just to keep it as clean and simple as I could.
